Mission Impossible 3 or M.i.III was the third installment in the Mission Impossible franchise. It was released in 2006, about 6 years before Ghost Protocol was released. It starred Tom Cruise, Michelle Monaghan, Philip Seymou Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Maggie Q, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Simon Pegg, Billy Crudup, and Laurence Fishburne. A very famous cast if you look at it. All of them are stars in their own right. The movie was directed by J.J. Abrams. The movie was a critical and commercial success, earning positive reviews and more than 350 million dollars worldwide.
It's one of the successful franchises out there and I think it's because the quality of the movies is always excellent. It never fails to impress and capture the audience. It always allows you to be involved by getting nervous for Tom Cruise, for rooting for his success, and hating the bad guys. It also does not disappoint in the action department with well-choreographed scenes that makes my heart skip a beat. The story also flows smoothly and attempts to stay true to its core strength. At least that's how I view the series.
It started intense and I liked the beginning of the movie a lot. It had back stories, but it also had action from the get go. It stunned me with the fighting sequences and hooked me right from the start of the movie. I think that particular part of the movie already had a lot to offer and there was nothing to do but to continue watching and wait for the next scenes, the development of the story. The middle part was my favorite, when the team was together plotting different strategies to make sure they accomplish the impossible mission. The beginning of the ending was a little anti-climactic but it soon picked up so I was satisfied with it. That's a word that can summarize the movie: satisfying.
The whole movie was action-packed and flowed pretty smoothly. Everything made sense, although there were a couple scenes that weren't as consistent. However, the movie in general was really exciting and engaging. The story was direct and was well-planned out. It was coherent and the development was concise. Even the musical score complemented what was happening in each scene. I don;t usually notice that kind of things but it begged for my attention and I really took notice.
The performances of the actors were nothing less than superb. I guess the biggest disappointment for me was the little screen time of Simon Pegg, who never fails to make me laugh. However, the team more than compensated for that. I have to say I felt a little odd when I realized just how great the team was, and why it was completely revamped for the fourth installment. Then again, the MI franchise isn;t exactly known for keeping their cast, except for Tom Cruise. However, Maggi Q, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Ving Rhames were really awesome as part of the team, badass with a soft side. Intense but at the same time mellow. I also enjoyed how the team worked together. I guess I can;t complain becase the team on the fourth one was just as good as them.
I think I liked the fourth installment better, but only by a bit. The third one kept me on my toes, so to speak. The magnitude of some of the scenes were breath-taking and thrilling at the same time. It made me giddy, but also made me nervous. The whole movie had the perfect balance of everything, from action to drama, to humor, to everything else in between. I also liked how the story had twists on its twists.
I realized I liked movies and writing, so I became a film blogger. Sounds just about right. Follow me on twitter @sirfilmreviewer ( https://twitter.com/#!/sirfilmreviewer ) and send me emails at mrfilmreviewer@yahoo.com

What's Your Number
Oh shut up! I know it's not the manliest movie to see but will it be ok if I said I really just wanted to see another Anna Faris movie? Yes? No?
What's Your Number was a 2011 romantic comedy movie starring Anna Faris and Chris Evans and was directed by Mark Mylod. It included a lot of familiar faces including Dave Annable, Chris Pratt (who apparently is married to Anna Faris), Ari Graynor, Joel McHale, and a lot more. The cast was actually really likable enough to charm the viewers. These actors playing various characters, and the interactions they had with one another were enjoyable to watch.
The story was not the most interesting story. It's about a girl searching all her ex-lovers in an attempt to not increase the number of her ex-boyfriends. It stated when she found out that the average number of relationships women would have was 10.5, and she was already at 20. The plot was very formulaic, and predictable. I would assume that it's a typical rom-com story, with the same type of appeal. It was not revolutionary nor did it challenge any standards. It wasn't as interesting as some of the other movies I've seen. However, the tandem of Faris and Evans made it ok.
Don't get me wrong, it had really funny moments. Some of the lines were hilariously witty. The direction of Mylod was good as well. However, for me, the best things about this movie were Faris' comedic delivery of her lines coupled with her famous expressions, and the tandem of Faris and Evans. I just hope Anna Faris don't get stuck with these roles because she is an awesome actress with loads of potentials. Although, I would gladly watch her comedy movies.
It was a fun movie. If you're just looking for a light movie, or if you're a huge fan of romantic comedies, I think this will suit you just fine. It was not the greatest movie, but it was still fun to watch. Despite the story being generic, it had a hilarious cast worth seeing.

The Dark Knight
I've always considered The Dark Knight one of the best superhero movies considering everything. It was fast-paced, at least for the most part, and action-packed. It had a stable story, brilliant effects, and a group of talented actors. I didn't find any flaw in the movie. This was a lot better than Batman Begins, and much stronger as well. It's a record holder in the box-office and I do think it does, in a way, reflect the awesomeness surrounding this film.
Heath Ledger is the star of the movie. His portrayal of The Joker, I think, will always be considered as one of the most iconic moments of the movie industry. I really rooted for him to have a posthumous win at the Academy Awards when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. I personally didn't think it would have mattered much, but the idea of having that achievement was worth supporting. After all he deserved. For those who have seen the movie, I guess no one will dare to say otherwise. His depiction of the twisted insanity of Joker was disgusting, in the best way possible.
When Batman Begins came out a long time ago, I was not too thrilled with the idea of the sequel. It was ok, but it was not spectacular. I even had my doubts about The Dark Knight. However, after hearing nothing but praise for the movie I decided to check it out and I was utterly impressed. I was literally left in awe when I saw the movie and I distinctly remember leaving the theater thinking "I hope they make a sequel." And this year that will happen and I am stoked about it.
I thought Aaron Eckheart would return, but I read online that he was not, that his character's dead. It's a bit disappointing mostly because he was a standout during The Dark Knight and having him back would have been amazing. He actually said two of the best lines if the movie. The first was, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." The second one was, "The night is darkest just before the dawn." In my opinion, these two lines were the most provoking lines, and also the most felt.
However, it opened the opportunity for fresh new villains. I'm really excited to see Anne Hathaway as one of the villains, and I'm sure Tom Hardy would be just as compelling as Batman's nemesis. As you know, I'm not exactly a comic book fan so the only things I know about the characters are the ones presented in film, and maybe a few additional information people have told me. Consequently, I'm not sure who Tom Hardy's character really is, but that's what makes me excited. I'm looking forward to another action-packed Batman movie fighting a new villain.
The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated movie this year and I'm sure it will not disappoint. It has a lot to live up to, but I honestly think that it will be just as impressive. I am considering the fact that a huge part of what made The Dark Knight work was the presence of Heath Ledger as The Joker, and he will not be back. However, I think the sequel will be just fine and stand on its own. I do recognize that Heath Ledger's Joker was the highlight of the movie and the reason why I really enjoyed the movie. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

The Social Network
The film used the tagline "You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemis." I think that tagline perfectly encapsulates what the movie was about. For those who don't know, The Social network was a 2010 movie about the creation of one of the leading websites in the world today, Facebook, and the whole fiasco behind it. It was directed by David Fincher, who directed Fight Club as well http://mrfilmreviewer.blogspot.com/2012/05/fight-club.html) and starred Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfiled, Justin Timberlake, Rooney Mara, Brenda Song, and a lot more talented actors.
In my opinion the movie depicts tragedy more than anything. Looking at how things turned out, it's a series of dark and twisted betrayals and conflicts. We all can't deny the fact that Facebook is a successful business, but its road to victory was stained with a lot of troubles. Relationships were broken, people were put in difficult situations. The desire for success consumed these people. They did a great job capturing those moments though and translating it to a screenplay. I thought it was brilliant and very well-written.
The story was a little complicated for me because at one end I didn't want to get too involved, but at the same time the movie begged me to feel involved. I was excited when things were looking up for the geniuses, disturbed by how Eduardo Saverin was thrown under the bus, irked at how Sean Parker handled the situation, and more. I felt a lot of emotions watching the movie, some of them not as good as the others. But I think that's wonderful because it indicates the fine job the creators of the movie did. It was provoking all sorts of feelings, allowing the viewers an inside look to one of the world's largest networks.
It was basically a legal drama and I enjoyed that aspect of it. At the beginning of the movie I thought it would be a simple narration of events. However, it suddenly revolved around the lawsuits filed against Mark Zuckerberg, and the events were shown in the form of flashbacks. I always find it creative when the story of a movie is not shown in chronological order so it was a plus for me.
It's an interesting movie in its own chaotic and twisted way. I really had a great time witnessing how Facebook rose to where it is now, the events that led to its success. I'm guessing some of the things were added, deducted, or slightly altered for cinematic effects. But I don't think it changed the movie as a whole. It was an amazingly crafted movie and it was intriguing. It lets you get involved in their world. This movie received a lot of positive acclaim and that's because it really was a good movie. Although I think Andre Garfield should have been nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the movie. I guess getting a Golden Glove nomination is not bad at all. The whole cast did a phenomenal job in portraying their characters.

The Bourne Legacy
This will not be a movie review since, obviously, the film has not been released yet. However, I'm writing this post anyway to express my excitement about this movie. The Bourne Legacy is on of the movies I am most looking forward to.In the next few months, a lot of amazing movies will flood the movie houses and theaters. Movie goers will love the cinema for sure. The Amazing Spiderman, The Dark Knight Rises, of course The Bourne Legacy will be released, along with several soon-to-be summer hits.
Here are some reasons why I am extremely stoked about it, and probably why you should be as well. First, the stars. The movie will feature a massive amount of talent in the forms of Jeremy Renner, Rachel Weisz, and Edward Norton. Readers of this blog will know how much I look up to both Jeremy Renner and Edward Norton, but I also am a supporter of Rachel Weisz. The moment I found out the stars who will be involved in this project, the anticipation began. Not only are these three incredible actors, they are also some of the best in the movie industry today.
Another reason why: the location. If you didn't know it, the production team of the movie chose the Philippines as a setting for some of its scenes. Let it now be known that I was really disappointed I was not able to see any of the cast, especially the three main stars. I am a huge fan of these actors and meeting them would have been awesome! Unfortunately, they filmed in a different city. I know several people who met them and that was really cool.
Also, I'm curious as to how they will continue the franchise. They changed a lot of things, so it won't be as real as the first three movies. I skeptical as to how they will manage to pick up form the three novels of Robert Ludlum. I didn't read the books so I have zero idea in terms of its storyline, but that alone triggers my curiosity.
I'm sure a lot of you can't wait for the release of the new Spiderman and Batman movies. I am too. But I am most excited about The Bourne Legacy. I have a feeling it will be an epic movie. People may not be as excited because the star is no longer Matt Damon, or that it's a totally different story from the previouse Bourne movies. Well, maybe you must look forward to it because it is different. It will be a new viewing experience.
Here are two links to the trailer of The Bourne Legacy I foun on YouTube. Just to make it clear, These are not my videos, and I just found it on the net. Just wanted to share it for those who haven't seen any of the trailers yet.
