It's almost been ten years since The Bourne Identity was released. It became a phenomenon getting critical acclaim and earning significantly. Just after a month after its tenth anniversary, the fourth installment, The Bourne Legacy, will be released. Before that happens, its best to look back at the movie that started it all, the first movie that created the Bourne hype. The latest installment will be quite different from the previous three, but I strongly believe that it will be as good.
The story was brief as it was just about the search for the identity of Bourne. I guess Robet Ludlum knew he was going to transform his first Bourne book to a series, which we should all be thankful for. However, although it was brief, it wasn't lacking. It had a concise premise and the story just kept getting better. It raised anticipation and excitement, and also sympathy and anxiety. The plot continued to build up the suspense and the action. It was just great to see how everything would unfold.
Matt Damon brought the character of Jason Bourne to life, embodying everything that defined who Jason Bourne was. I think a big part of the reason why the Bourne series did so well was because they had the right actor to play Bourne. He was able to ask the audience to sympathize with him as he discovered who he was, what he did, the life he led. Franka Potente was also the suitable partner for Bourne. In reality, the whole gang did so well in the movie. Doug Liman really did an awesome job directing the movie.
I had great pleasure watching the movie. It was an intelligent movie executed brilliantly. It was awesome and it didn't disappoint. There's a reason why Bourne became a worldwide phenomenon and that's cause it had a fantastic movie to start it off. It had all the ingredients for a great movie, and they created the perfect mix with it. Everything worked which made me appreciate the movie.
